Hi guys, not been in for a while! Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy a 'bare bones' engine, just the block and heads so i can bolt on my manifolds and other parts etc, i was gona rebuild myself but i think i would be better doing it this way even if it may cost a bit more! :)

try these guys.....they are really respected in the engine biz and offer a pretty good warranty....I'd just go ahead and get a long block....save you alot of headaches later on...

Long blocks are nearly "drop in" replacements. You may have to bolt on a few items, but for the most part, they are fully assembled. Short blocks require you to remove/replace parts from your old engine and bolt them to the new one. Not sure of boats, but with cars you need to install a water pump, intake, carb and such. Its been my experience (with cars) that spending a little extra for a long block is well worth it. But only my 2 cents. :D

in the case of a marine engine...as stated ...it's about 95% complete...so..it's basically a plug and play instl....

I bought a long block from americamarine and motorsports in Wisconsin last year and it has worked out very well. The boat was 7mph faster than the old engine.

I can help with shipping to the UK if required. You'd need to come pick it up from Cheshire but its gotta be cheaper than shipping it yourself :D
