Hi everyone,
Today, my wife and I traded in our 2003 Bayliner 265 for a 2006 Maxum 2700 SE with the 350 Mag MPI engine and Bravo III drive. Just wondering if those of you out there with the same engine are satisfied with its performance. I had the same engine in my 265 but, of course, the boat was about 1,000 pounds lighter. It performed exceptionally well.

Welcome Aboard...
Afraid I won't be able to answer your question as I have a smaller Maxum, and all water activities have been pretty much closed down for the season here in Northern Virginia.
Where abouts do you live and boat?

Thanks for the welcome, sure is a quiet site compared to Bayliner Owners Club. I live and boat in Eastern Ontario Canada, Lake Ontario and St-Lawrence River. I'm not expecting delivery of my 2700 until next April. Still hoping to hear from other 2700 owners with the 350 Mag MPI and BIII drive, regarding it's performance on the 2700. It's just my wife and I so we're certainly not loading the boat.
Another question I had was regarding the option of an electric toilet. Anyone have it on their boat and how reliable is it. Had three previous Bayliners but all had the Jabsco manual head.

Can't help ya since I have a pump out manual head, and I'm not overly impressed with it. Hopefully we will see some responses here that can raise our knowledge base. If you drop me a line at Franco2fly@aol.com I can pass along some of my personal findings on the subject.

Try looking up SeaPuppy here and shoot him an email.
He has a 2700 with a 6.2 MPI and BIII with all the options including Vacu Flush head!
6.2 MPI = 320hp
350mag = 300hp so he should be able to give you a good heads up on performance!
We have the same engine and drive combo as you but I don't think I'd be much help. But I see a bunch of 27' with 5.0 and 5.7 and they seem to get along just fine. With the 350 mag verson of the 5.7 you should be a head of the pack
BTW- Welcome

cool to see someone getting one of the same boats that I have...I got the 6.2ltr b3 drive option and love it....it's got serious torque and will pull all the way to rev limiter.....the boat itself has the vacu-flush as well as AC and westerbeke gennie....awesome package.....we love the boat and the only thing I can tell you about it is that the props they stuck on my drive might be a little under propped...I have a 20"pitch and feel that this particular boat should have 24's.......but overall...the boat is really a great running boat and with the b3 drive..it will be so easy for you to dock and maneuver .....I used to have the 2455 and it was a nightmare to dock....it just flat out would spin or twist if we had any kind of side wind....the b3 counters the torque from the alpha and wind has a little bit of a minimal affect on docking...almost like having twins....almost I said....
one trick that I learned works really well with the b3 is you can turn the boat on it's axis ...crank the wheel over in fwd...start your turn...then crank in the opposite direction and kick in reverse...the boat will spin on it's axis......great for docking....anyways....I'm sure your gonna really love this boat......feel free to contact me anytime if you have a questions....... :)

And congratulations to you on your new 2700. That sure is one awsome package you have.
Thanks for the tip regarding docking with the Bravo III. Can't wait until Spring to give it a try.
I would still like to throw out the question to any 2700 owners with the 350 Mag MPI and how they rate its performance, i.e. miles per hours vs rpm, fuel consumption, etc.
I didn't get any replies regarding the electric toilet, anyone out there with one?
:D

I have a 1997 2800 SCR and I put the Jabsco electric conversion on it. Works great!
Here is a link where I got it.
