Maxum 3200 SCR - Dock side water by-pass

Newly registered and very impressed with this site.

My issue is that the check valve for the dock side water by-pass outlet located inside the starboard transom door keeps getting stuck. I have to adjust it constantly and still I get water coming out of it when my water pump is on. I also cannot unscrew the plastic connector where the check valve is.

Any ideas on how to address this. Would a silicone spray work?

I would probably replace the check valve and use a little silicone or teflon spray on the outlet......
