New Radio/Speakers

I just bought a 97 Maxum 2300 SR as my first boat. The radio is not up to par. Can anybody suggest a nice stereo and speaker system? Would prefer not to go over $500 or so. Also, would anybody happen to know the speaker sizes for that year and model? Thank you.

There is quite a bit for your budget out there, most of the top manufacturers do a marine range (small range) cheap and reasonable sound is available from Boss :thumb:

We really like the Fusion. My iPhone 4 and iPod slide in behind the radio's face and are controlled by the radio and its wire remotes. No adapters or cheap FM modulators. The remotes are well lit and easy to operate.
