The Admiral was at the wheel when a gust of wind blew us into the dock. Everything seems OK except a 2 foot section of the lower rear rub rail was pulled off and mangled. I'll probably have to cut the mangled piece off but how do I bend a new piece to fit? The rail takes a downward turn and then goes into the back platform. Where can I find a piece to match?
A boat junkyard would be great! Is it a relative easy fix? It's a 1992 Maxum 2300 SCR.

oh man....for that I have no idea...hopefully someone can chime in with some help....I'd call your local maxum dealer and see if they can get a chunk of it for repair....I think it's just the aluminum track right??..that shouldn't be too hard to bend and shape....

The catalog that I got from West Marine shows various aluminum tracks with the associated rubber insert. I would need to see a picture to even guess at the bending required. As a start, I would either make an outline or take a piece to West marine and see if they can match it.

i called a local Maxum dealer and ordered all new rub rail from Maxum directly. since i redid the boat in black, silver, grey colors i bought black rub rail. it was actually cheaper than the white. i think 60' was around $30. wasn't expensive at all. prob best to do that than buy something from WM that's universal and may not fit right. we did our whole 2400 SCR in about an hour.
