HI, WE ARE NEW TO THIS SITE. WE ARE PLANNING TO PURCHASE A 2001 41 FOOT MAXUM AFT CABIN. I HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE MASTER STATEROOM. WOULD LIKE EVERYONES ADVICE REGARDING THE AIRCONDITIONER THAT IS UNDER THE BED IN THE MASTER STATEROOM. THE BOAT WE ARE LOOKING AT HAS NOT HAD THE UNDERSIDE CLEANED OR PAINTED SINCE BEING PURCHASED SO I AM WONDERING IF THE NOISY AIRCONDITIONER WILL BE QUIETER ONCE WE PURCHASE THIS BOAT AND HAVE THE PROPER MAINTENENCE PERFORMED. THE BOAT HAS VERY LOW HOURS 230??? PLEASE HELP, WE HAVE A DOWN PAYMENT ON THIS BOAT AND NEED TO MAKE UP OUR MIND ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. THANKS TO EVERYONE. CHRYS

Bottom paint should no way help the sound of the AC compressor- What kind of sound are you hearing? Could the isolators on the AC unit be bad? Before you buy did you have it surveyed. If they find a problem with AC unit in the survey, have it documented! If you still go ahead with the purchase, make sure you negotiate the cost of repairs in your offer to seller!

I must say that for a 2001 those are extremely low hours of use. For example, my 2004 Maxum 2100Sc has 250 hours as of last weekend. I second the vote for a solid Marine survey.
