View Full Version : Vacuflush exhaustion

I just replaced all of the duckbill valves in my fwd unit. (Maxum 4600) the one in the pump room that requires contortion.

Even after this, it still pumps continuously, well until it stopped altogether. Breakers still set.

1. Did I burn the pump?
2. Is the next step pump and bellows?

A fair bit of extra water went down there as I continued to flush hoping for a sign of vacuum. Could that kill the pump if it was not pulling through to the tank?

Any other Sage advice?

I am about to do the duckbills on the other unit that works. How long should a properly functioning unit pump for to achieve the required vacuum. The working unit on my boat is about 10-15mins (way too long I imagine).

Thanks
Wayne

I was hoping someone with your model would chime in....the only thing left to replace is the bellows....the vacuflush should cycle about a dozen times and then shut down...you might also check the pressure switch...if it's worn out...it won't shut down....

I had my system tied to an aux. switch on the dash so I could shut it down ..it's very easy to do...

Turns out, today I had vacuum

But I can now hear sucking under the bowl at the toilet.

This is a big win, I am a step closer and I am out of the pump room

Thanks
