I was doing some checks on the outdrive, getting ready for spring launch, when I noticed that I had a little wiggle in my prop/hub. If I grab a blade with each hand and wiggle, the prop tilts side to side at the forwardmost part, pivoting at the rear. I dont remember my last boat doing this, but it was not a mercruiser. Is this normal, or do I have bearings that need to be replaced? If the bearings are bad, I may go ahead and put on a new prop. Any advice you may have would be much appreciated.

there is a certain amount of end play or what is called runout...if it's excessive...new bearings and seals are required.....the only way to make sure it's not excessive is to take it to a shop and have them measure the endplay or runnout with a dial indicator....just grabbing it won't tell you much...you need to know the min/max end play you have...

hope this helps...
