2400 SCR. Sump Pump in shower gave up the ghost. Or ground itself into dust or whatever. Any hints on replacing same. The drain plate is extremely corroded. If that is the only access there is a possiblility, no, certainty, that more than the drain plate will be damaged. Just wondering if anyone has done this replacement before.
Thanks for any feedback.

On my boat (2800 SCR) There is an access hatch in the cabin sole (just outside the head) that houses the seacock for the head, the forward bilge pump and switch, and the shower sump. Did you try poking you're head in there and taking a quick look around? Maybe there isn't one on the 2400, but I thought I'd give it a shot. There should be a couple of access hatches under the midcabin berth as well. I would poke my head in there as well. I would seriously doubt it would need to be accessed through the drain itself. That drain should have a locking nut underneath and you would typically need to get that off before removing the drain too. I can access the drain and tubing through the same hatch in the sole.

his should be under the steps...take the garbage bucket out and you should see the hole all the way down in the bilge...there might also be a lid on the lower step that flips up..he can access it there...the shower sump is nothing more than a catch and a floating sw. connected to a bilge pump...I think it's a rule bilge pump for under a 100 bucks..

The steps are on the other side of the boat in a 2400........by looking at it I would suspect that you would have to maybe pull the fridge to get at the pump and fittings??? I'm not sure on the type of pump, mine is super loud...more like a macerator than a sump pump....maybe mine is on the way out too???
Cheers
Chris
The pump is under the fridge in the 2400 scr (at least that where its at on mine). The floor drain and hosing is a pain to work (lack of space).

Thanks guys. Under the fridge seems about right and from what I've seen access will be a bugger. Looks like one of those deferred maintenance problems.
I appreciate the response. This is a great forum and kudos to the site mangers...
