Getting ready to get in the water I started up the stbd engine on muffs without a problem. Shifted into fwd and reverse up to 1200 rpm, no issues. I then started the port one without a problem. When I went into fwd and went higher then idle rpm it quit. Starts right up without a problem. Same issue in reverse. As soon as I go higher than idle rpm it quits, temp is good, oil pressure is good. I let it idle for about 10 minutes and the same happens. It a 1999 Mercruiser 5.0 L, 305 carburated engine. The gas is good (it runs the other engine without a problem), It has a new fuel/water filter. Any ideas :?:

There is a switch on the shift linkage on the manifold that drops you engine out for a second when shifting in and out of gear. maybe it is out of adjustment?

Both engines run fine now, I didn't touch anything. Maybe they were just cranky after a long winter break

just one thought....you really shouldn't shift the drives in and out of gear unless it's in the water...I was told by the mechanic it's not good for the drive...plus in case someone accidently tosses something or falls into the spinning prop wouldn't be good...
just a thought... :pirate:
