clip on xhaust bellows

can anyone tell me what the purpose of the clips are on the exhaust bellows. I thought maybe the bellows had a wire running through to act as continuaty, but I cut an old one and there is nothing there. :?:

I changed out the exhaust bellows, I guess the clips are on the bellows in order to ground the stainless steel clamps, (makes sense)

Yes, it's used to ground the clamp.
