Cockpit cover snaps

I recently started putting the snaps on my new cockpit cover for my 2004 1800 SR3. What I am not sure about is where should the cover snap when it comes down over the windshield? There are snaps for the convertible top along the top of the windshield which also work for the cockpit cover, but there is not way to fasten the cockpit cover at the base of the windshield. Does anyone have a similar boat with the cockpit cover??

Is this the storage cover or the cockpit cover? The cockpit cover snaps to the top of the windshield, the storage cover goes over the windeshield and snaps to the bow. the cockpit cover can be open in the back and you can get clear vinyl side windows.

I think the cover with the two windows and the zippered back that attaches to the top of the windshield is called a convertible top. I am talking about the cover that snaps around the cockpit, along the top of the windshield, and comes down over the windshield. The snap location I am questioning is along the bottom of the windshield

There are 2 types of cockpit covers, one snaps at the top of the windshield and one that snaps at the bottom of the windshield. The preferred cover and more expensive snape at the bottom of the windsield preventing sunlight in the cockpit and preserving the interior of the boat. The downside is that you are more likly to develop mod or mildew in the cockpit unless ther is some ventalation. Anyway to get back to the question my instalation uses 2 twist lock connectors on either side of the windshield and snaps all the way around the cockpit with all the snaps screwed into the fiberglass and not in the windshield itself.

Mine (2100SC) was like Max2100's but did not have those twist locks. After just 3 weeks on a dark night going down the interstate at 50mph the whole shooting match blew off and I never did recover it.

Make sure you get those twist locks. In my case, when I do replace the cockpit cover I will also install a safety line that ties off somewhere just for the piece of mind it will provide.
