I have a 2300scr 1993 with a leaking fuel tank. The tank leaks only when the boat was crusing. I have check the lines, what is the best way to remove the tank or could it be something else. 504-432-2626- cgreen@nocca.com-

Best way and only way to generally get the tank out is by ripping up a portion of the floor
Where are you finding fuel? it could easily be a loose hose or poor seal around your fuel filter.. check these.
Tanks very rarely leak as they are thick plastic and quite maleable... I've never heard of someone cracking one.

well..hate to burst the bubble..but the first yr we had our 2455 the fuel tank leaked..we were getting fumes in the salon and almost got my wife sick..we left the boat at about 2am...had the boat looked at by bayliner and they took it to get the old tank out and put a new one in..seems that our 2k was built with a batch of bad tanks...no holes but plenty of fuel weeping thru the sidewalls.....plastic tanks do go bad....
best way is to find the beginning of the tank and the aft end...then find the sides as to centerline of the boat.....then cut the fiberglass out with a saw or some sort of grinder.....pull the decking out then the tank....replace with a new one and then reglass the decking back in.....gotta be good with fiberglass....a good glasser can have the job done in about a week......
good luck and let us know how it goes.....
